Mind Seed is pleased to offer
several diversity education programs. Increasingly, organizations, schools,
and corporations are realizing the need to reach more diverse audiences
and attract a more inclusive workforce.
Where should you start? Mind
Seed is uniquely positioned to provide the important first step in the
diversity awareness process: self reflection. Until we understand ourselves
better as individuals or organizations, we will have a difficult time
understanding others.
Our workshops will improve
your ability to learn about, understand, and appreciate cultural differences,
as well as cultural similarities.

Workshop
Descriptions
Understanding The "U" In Culture
This introductory training workshop introduces the concept of individual
cultural competence. The training explores the multiple dimensions of
culture and gives participants the opportunity to explore their own culture,
as well as learn about the cultures of others. One participant called
it "the best diversity workshop I have ever attended."
Building Cultural Competence
This in-depth training workshop introduces the concept of individual cultural
competence. The workshop includes a combination of interactive activities,
discussions, and a fantastic educational simulation about culture.
Building Organizational Cultural Competence
This educational workshop introduces the concept of organizational cultural
competence. Just as individuals have their own cultural identity, so do
organizations. This workshop explains the components of organizational
cultural competence and examines why it is important to be a culturally
competent organization.
Do You Know The ABCs?
ABC stands for Anti-Bias Curriculum, a method of avoiding bias and stereotypes
in the classroom. This workshop provides an introduction to anti-bias
curriculum, its principles, and resources to assist educators in adopting
this important approach to teaching.
The Eye Of The Storm
This workshop utilizes the classic documentary, The Eye of the Storm
to remind all of us about the role authority figures play in the lives
of children and youth and the impact we have on those around us. We discuss
how prejudice can contaminate any environment, how it spreads, and how
to prevent it.
Five Tricks: A Simulation Game
This workshop is a fun and entertaining way to learn about diversity.
We can't say too much more or we'll give it away....but trust us, this
is a fantastic workshop that will keep you talking and thinking long after
the workshop is over. A former customer who participated in this simulation
over a year ago told us he still thinks about it today!
No Two Are Alike:
Exploring Family Diversity
Today's families are a diverse range of sizes, shapes, and structures.
Just like other forms of diversity, individuals and organizations need
to be able to serve the broad range of today's diverse families. This
workshop looks at today's family patterns and explores the importance
of truly serving all families.
